Kelenna Azubuike

Family left Nigeria and moved to the UK where Kelenna was born, before immigrating to U.S. and making a home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While in Tulsa, he was a teammate and friend of the son of then-University of Tulsa head coach Tubby Smith, which led to his eventual recruitment by Smith at the University of Kentucky.

Envisioned becoming a broadcaster when he was playing in the NBA and attended the NBA’s broadcasting training seminar at Syracuse, plus sought advice on broadcasting from Jim Barnett who helped connect Kelenna to NBC Sports Bay Area.

Attended a world leadership summit on economics in Tanzania and brought mosquito nets, clothing items and helped build a water well at an orphanage. Also participated in Basketball Without Borders program in Israel.

 Helped with the production of the film ‘Midrange’ and is passionate about filmmaking -- as well as music, upon initially making beats and doing music production starting when he was 13-years-old. Part of a musical family and played both drums and saxophone in his youth.
