Eric Paschall

Warriors forward Eric Paschall talks about the opportunity to represent the Warriors at NBA All-Star 2020 in Chicago and shares a timeline for what music was key in his life during his upbringing in Dobbs Ferry, NY through both his high school and AAU experiences and up to college life at both Fordham and Villanova.

Says he would want to work in the music industry if not playing in the NBA and befriended music producer 9th Wonder at a Nike event several years ago sparking his intense interest in hip-hop beat production.

Notes Meek Mill and A$AP Rocky as favorites from his days playing AAU basketball and details a particular driving road trip from Arkansas to Wisconsin listening to mix tapes with friend and current Jazz star Donovan Mitchell.

Says that J. Cole is the artist who has had the most influence on his attention to the full potential of music being transformative in people’s lives.

Played college basketball first at Fordham with Matt Massimino, grandson of legendary coach Rollie Massimino from Eric’s alma mater Villanova, as Eric stays in touch with Matt in the NBA as he’s now on Monty Williams’ staff with the Suns.

Learned the ropes of playing physical basketball in the summer leagues at Dyckman Park in Harlem.
