Chris DeMarco

Warriors assistant coach and director of player development Chris DeMarco talks about playing at Dominican University in San Rafael upon transferring after playing three seasons at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.

His time at Dominican yielded an MBA in Global Management and through a series of pickup games with Warriors basketball staffers came the opportunity for an internship in the video department with the Warriors on then-head coach Mark Jackson’s staff.

DeMarco talks about leading the Bahamas men’s national team featuring the likes of Buddy Hield and DeAndre Ayton as the team’s head coach and how Klay Thompson’s brother Mychal helped the team in a key group qualification match-up against Mexico.

His father, a New York-native, coached basketball and football in Chris’ hometown of Appleton, Wisconsin and he lists his dad Sal, his Xavier high school coach Lee Rabas, plus Steve Kerr, Mark Jackson, Mike Malone, Luke Walton and Alvin Gentry as his all-time most influential coaches he’s played for and worked with spanning from his youth to his experiences in the NBA.
