Warriors assistant coach Ron Adams talks about life growing up on a farm in the Central Valley that grew cotton before playing college basketball at Fresno Pacific University.
Was named head coach of the Fresno Pacific Men’s Basketball team at the age of 24 having served as an assistant coach and eventually became the head coach of Fresno State before his first job in the NBA as an assistant with the Spurs.
He says that the various relationships he has made in the nine NBA cities he has worked in are the most enjoyable aspects of working as a coach and teacher of the game.
With a growing number of U.S. Poet Laureates hailing from the Central Valley, Coach Adams has found poetry to be a passion that he says is a nice contrast to life in the NBA and an important vehicle for gaining an equilibrium amid a hectic schedule.
Envisions the future of the NBA to become even faster and more international in scope than we are currently experiencing with the modern professional game.
